THE BEGINNING OF HACD:
The official team name, HACD, was established in 2019. The initials HACD stands for (Hallyu Archetypal Culture Delegation), and the organization began as a college student group within the 'Daehan History and Culture Association,' whose mission is to discover, restore, and disseminate Korea's genuine historical events. Since 2013, the Daehan History and Culture Association's collegiate student organization has focused on researching genuine history through consistent regional meetings and historical journeys in Korea and overseas. They performed outdoor campaigns in order to inform the people regarding the correct history according to their research. Furthermore, excellent members were awarded the Daehan History Guide accreditation and offered history lessons in both high and middle schools.

ADAPTION OF THE NAME HACD:
A group of around 40 Korean college students traveled to Shanghai, China, to mark the centennial of the March 1st Movement and the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea (1/8/11). From then on, they were known by the name 'Hallyu Archetypal Culture Delegation.' (Shanghai was the location of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea during the Japanese colonial period.)

HACD ONLINE CLASSES:
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 outbreaks in 2020, HACD's operations were temporarily discontinued, however beginning within year 2021, HACD continued to look for another way to restart its education program by performing online activities and introduced online learning opportunities by utilizing social media platforms. The program was managed by [Director Lee Yeon-ju and Mentors Jung Seo-young, Kim Ki-jeong, Jo Cheong-moon, and Park Ji-won] who took on the role to help organize the program. Surprisingly, they completed the program effectively and successfully by committing their full enthusiasm, dedication, and efforts to succeed.

INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION OF HACD:
In the year 2023, HACD started exploring opportunities for new paths and to encourage foreigners to broaden its purpose throughout the world. Surprisingly, numerous participants and supporters from all over the world participated; nearly hundreds of them all joined us and are now dedicated to become part of the continually expanding HACD organization. HACD organized free special lectures, topic presentations, interesting activities, and more profound learning materials and sessions, similar to the previous program. Furthermore, 2 seasons have already been completed successfully, and HACD has decided to advance its program to season 3, with additional scheduled activities planned for the current year as well as the years to come.

HACD'S TEAM & INSTRUCTORS':
We are honored to share information about our beloved team coordinators and greatest instructors that will accompany you throughout your HACD exciting experiences. [Director Lee Yeon-joo together with the Mentors; Jung Seo-young, Oh Jeong-hae, Jung Jin-ju, Jang Yoon-ho, Jo Su-jeong, and Kim Dong-ju] are part of a newly established organizing team. [Mr. Sang-gyu Lee, Mr. Jun-su Park, Ms. Kyung-hee Son, and Mr. Seok Kim] are the Daehan History and Culture Association's instructors and translators, they have maintained their commitment to continually contribute their very best as instructors for HACD during Seasons 1 and 2 and into the next Seasons. Since the new season has officially started, they are currently recruiting for Honorary Reporters for Season 3. We acknowledge them by delivering the most outstanding lectures and sharing their precious expertise with everyone.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:

We are grateful to all those who have supported us and continue to dedicate themselves with their genuine engagement with us. We feel profoundly touched every moment we come together during our seminars, and we are delighted to witness your sincere approach towards HACD. We wouldn't be able to succeed without your support and participation; therefore it brings honor to all of our participants that you have joined with us, and we encourage you to continually collaborate with us as well. 

Many thanks to all of you, especially to our Mentors and Instructors! We are all proud of you for giving the best you have, and we appreciate you taking the time to come spend time with us. It's a gratitude to hear your valuable lectures, and we are all grateful for the opportunity to learn from you. Thank you to everyone who has provided us with such marvelous opportunities and chances to encounter many new experiences and realizations. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and help in bringing the HACD to everyone wherever they are in the world. 

In general, cheers to all participants & heartfelt congratulations to HACD! We will always provide you with the greatest experiences, and we hope that we will be a part of your unforgettable memories. In terms of problems and challenges that may arise, HACD is always here to guide and support you! We encourage you to come together with us and continue the exciting journey of HACD.

Perceptibly as a beginner, I was always searching for sources to begin my journey of understanding true Korean history and culture.  South Korea in 2018; Through my Eyes      2018 for me was a very significant year. I was in my final year in highschool and my sister who I was and still am very close to, got accepted as an exchange student (교환 학생: Gyo-Hwan Hak-Saeng) to Kyungpook National University in Daegu. I was very anxious about being so far from her for almost a whole year and soon after her departure in February of 2018, I was very dejected. Fast forward to a few months later, in the month of May, my father informed us to pack our bags for travel. It was only by mid-May did I find out that we would be traveling to South Korea! I was beyond ecstatic!    2018 in South Korea was quite a hectic time as well. Earlier in the year, the country had its first talk with North Korea in a decade, at the Joint Security Area* (JSA) regarding sending its athletes to South Korea, as it hosted the Winter Olympics for that year, in Pyeongchang.
