Cosmology

All the great civilizations of the ancient world had a system of understanding the universe, whether through mythologies, legends of philosophy to explain about the universe. We call this system, “cosmology”. A civilization’s cosmology helps us to understand their core philosophy.

Dao, The Way
Dao
Ancient people believed that dao is the origin, the source, and the ultimate destination and everything comes from dao and returns to dao. It's a complete amalgamation (one) of all things before the separation into Yin and Yang. But we cannot conceive this world in our head. For example, say if you close your eyes. What do we really see? Nothing. Yes, that is what you observe. Even what you see, the Nothingness is divided into the Yin and Yang.

In the old days, the term ‘religion’ didn't exist in the East. There was the way, the dao, which is the ultimate origin and ultimate destination that humanity must reach, and spiritual practices provided their own method to reach that dao. So Buddhism was called Dao of Buddha, Confucianism was called Dao of Confucius, Practice of Zen was called the Dao of Zen ie. Dao of Warriors(mudo). Dao of Tea(dado) and Taekwondo, Kendo, Judo...etc. And when you become a master in one field, you are considered a dao master(dosa).

So, dao(do), in short, is the ultimate origin and the ultimate destination for the universe and all beings. It is the Way and it is the truth.

"Dao is the work of one Yin and one Yang." -Confucius

The issue: dao is too mysterious and extremely difficult to understand. This means that if we learn about Yin and Yang, we can understand what dao is.

What is Yin and Yang?
Also known as the law of duality, Yin and Yang is the oldest and the most fundamental principle of the universe. It is the foundation of all knowledge in both the East and the West.

Yin and Yang is the source of computer language which means modern technology came from Yin and Yang as well!

They regard an individual as a part of a whole and regard object and the self as one. Understands the other, mentally and emotionally. This is how understanding the mind became advanced in east. They perceived humans and nature as one.

They try to see that they are "Individualistic Separates the object and the self and examines and analyzes the world with I' at the center. This is why individualism and science developed

In the East, people see the world through verbs.

In the West, people sees the world through noun.

They talk about the "Interconnectedness". They think that we are all interconnected.

They are very "Independent" and try to find a commonness.

The Four Laws of Yin and Yang

1. Yin and Yang always co-exists.

2. Yin and Yang supplement and support each other and become the root of each other.

3. Yin and Yang directly oppose each other and restrict one another.

4. Yin and Yang take turns in circulation.

But Yin and Yang is so vast! Anything and everything can be divided into two!

Example: You and I, the 'T' and the Universe, left and right, up and down, inside and outside, good and evil, love and hate ,iPhone vs. Galaxy Phone, etc.

But it is too vast, so we must dive in deeper to have a better understanding of the universe and study in smaller fragments.
