 POPULARITY OF KOREAN CULTURE



We all know that these days Korean culture's popularity has increased and worldwide want to learn about Korean culture, food,k-drama, and so on.

‘Due to this popularity of Korean culture, termed hallyu (“Korean wave”), many Korean words have entered the English language.’

Bulgogi, galbi, hanbok, hangul, kimbap, etc.(26 words)

 





I think K-pop is very popular with youngsters, not only young people but all generations.

BTS we all know them they are very famous for their songs most of them are in the Korean language but we all listen to their songs.





For seeing their crazy they made English songs like Dynamite, butter, and Permission to Dance. Permission to dance song performed in UN and they have become UN part also.





BTS leader RM gave a speech at the UN and said that

“No matter who you are, where you’re from, your skin color, your gender identity, just speak yourself.”

"After releasing the “Love Yourself” albums and launching the “Love Myself” campaign,  we started to hear remarkable stories from our fans all over the world, how our message helped them overcome their hardships in life and start loving themselves. Korean food




Korean food is also popular in the world,

Korean food has a deep meaning ‘A key trait of Korean cuisine is the

combination of the eum(yin)-yang philosophy

 

and fermentation. For example, the main ingredients for kimchi are cabbage and radish. The wide leaves of cabbage are yin and the long stalk of radish represents yang’.



HACD

HACD provided me with all these much information for free and increase my interest in Korea.

Discovering the Rich Tapestry of Korean History and Culture:   My Journey through Bukchon Hanok Village along with HACD mentors As a Korean language student, I always dreamt of immersing myself in the captivating world of Korean history, customs, and culture. Perceptibly as a beginner, I was always searching for sources to begin my journey of understanding true Korean history and culture. I feel so fortunate that I got to know about HACD (Hallyu Archetypal Culture Delegation). Through the informative sessions curated by professors and mentors, I started to understand the true essence of Korean history in depth.  South Korea in 2018; Through my Eyes      2018 for me was a very significant year. I was in my final year in highschool and my sister who I was and still am very close to, got accepted as an exchange student (교환 학생: Gyo-Hwan Hak-Saeng) to Kyungpook National University in Daegu. I was very anxious about being so far from her for almost a whole year and soon after her departure in February of 2018, I was very dejected. Fast forward to a few months later, in the month of May, my father informed us to pack our bags for travel. It was only by mid-May did I find out that we would be traveling to South Korea! I was beyond ecstatic!    2018 in South Korea was quite a hectic time as well. Earlier in the year, the country had its first talk with North Korea in a decade, at the Joint Security Area* (JSA) regarding sending its athletes to South Korea, as it hosted the Winter Olympics for that year, in Pyeongchang.
