Choi Bok-hee: Master artisan of hanbok Hello HACD friends! Today we want to introduce you to a great artisan: Choi Bok-hee, creator of wonderful Hanbok. Figure 1. A girl wearing a hanbok picture by Zero Take on Unsplash But first of all… What is a hanbok? The Hanbok is the traditional Korean dress. It can be worn by both men and women. For women, it consists of a short jacket (jeogori) and a long, full skirt (chima). For men's hanbok, the skirt is replaced by wide trousers (baji) closed at the ankles. For both men and women, the hanbok follows a very simple and straight line, without pockets. She learned to sew at a young age thanks to her mother. They both made clothes for wealthy customers in the area where they lived. Rituals of Indian weddings (Part:2) There is a very famous lines about weddings in India, which is : ‘Marriage is not only between two people, but also between two families and cultures’. There is also a 'Choora ' ritual in which the Choora is brought by the brother of the Bride's mother and it is washed in raw milk and worn by the Bride. ( Choora : it is a different type of bangles of red color with different design which is worn only by married women.) Which is not shown to the Bride and after wearing it a red cloth is put on it so that the Bride can't see it. After we ari ng the Choora the Bride is forbidden to leave the house. Korean Folk Tale Shimcheongjeon : ( The Tale Of Good Gaughter Shim Cheong ) Shim Cheong-jeon is a story about the titular Sim Cheong, who throws herself into the Indang Sea as a sacrifice so that her blind father can regain his eyesight. This selfless act of filial piety causes her to be resurrected and become an empress, and her father's blindness is cured. This tale took place a long time ago in the beautiful Dohwa Village . Seven year old shim cheong took very good care of her blind father. Cheong's mother passed away not long after giving birth to the baby girl, so her father had to beg other women of the village for breast milk in order to raise her all by himself.
